Get paid back. Get known. Get customers.
A paid seat in a directory that gives back what you put in. Every church we fund is required to spend its stipend inside the directory — and a no-loss guarantee backs your membership.
Why it works for you
Guaranteed demand, built into the system.
Sponsorship usually costs money and gives nothing measurable back. Here, the customers are part of the design.
Churches must spend in the directory
Every church we fund is required to spend the directory portion of its stipend with member businesses like yours.
It grows with every church
Each new church that joins adds more required spending flowing to members in its zone. Early members hold the least crowded seats.
Your customers can see it
A Proud Community Sponsor sign in your window tells neighbors that spending with you funds a cleaner block.
What it could look like at scale (projection, not a result): 1,000 partner churches in the U.S. would mean $1.2M a month in required directory spending; 1,000 in Kenya would mean KES 25M a month. The long-term target is 60,000 churches worldwide.

The guarantee
The no-loss guarantee, in numbers.
If the business the directory sends you in your first 12 months adds up to less than the dues you paid, we refund the difference and your second year is free. Covers vendors, merchants, and small-to-mid businesses. Worked example for a Kenya merchant paying the KES 15,000 pilot fee: KES 180,000 over 12 months. Paying yearly? You pay 10 months (KES 150,000), and the gap is measured the same way.
- 1
You pay in
KES 180,000
over your first 12 months as a member
- 2
We track what comes back
KES 135,000
example: business the directory sends you in a year
- 3
We refund the gap
KES 45,000
the shortfall between what you paid and what came back
- 4
Year two is free
KES 0
your second 12 months of membership
The guarantee is measured on spending reported through the program by participating organizations. It is not a promise of any particular number of customers, and it does not cover CBOs, NGOs, or PBOs. Full terms are in section 9 of our Terms of Service.
Where your dues go
25–30% funds visible, local work.
Between a quarter and a third of what every business pays each month flows into the program fund, carried out on the ground by partner churches in your zone.
Pick up trash
Remove graffiti
Mow overgrown lots
Board up unsafe buildings
The pitch to your customers writes itself: here, trash gets picked up, graffiti gets removed, lots get mowed, and unsafe buildings get boarded — funded in part by what they just spent.
Where the money comes from
For-profit funding, given as donations.
The stipends and program funds behind the Square Mile program come from for-profit sources: Alliance Capital Reserve's capital and the fees members pay for their digital products and services packages. A portion of those fees supports the program. Those funds are given to Bridgewell Urban Group and to partner churches as donations, and Bridgewell receives and records them as donations.
Partner churches then report each month how their directory and outreach budgets were spent, and those reports are tracked inside Nexus.
For CBOs, NGOs & PBOs
Your membership can pay for itself.
Community organizations pay the organization fee above like any member, then receive a monthly stipend once they've recruited 3 businesses and submitted data on 40+ households they already serve inside our zones. Household data is collected with explicit consent — see how in the Community Data Grid.
- 1
Recruit 3 businesses
Bring three businesses into the directory.
- 2
Submit data on 40+ households
The households you already serve inside our zones, collected with their consent.
- 3
Receive your monthly stipend
KES 20,000 (Kenya) or $300 (U.S.) each month once both conditions are met.
CBOs, NGOs, and PBOs follow this earn-back track instead of the no-loss guarantee.

Questions
The short answers.
What is the Square Mile program?+
A funded system that turns a church and the businesses around it into one connected zone. Churches receive a monthly stipend they must spend with member businesses; member businesses pay for a membership that includes working products and a directory listing; and part of every membership funds visible neighborhood work like trash pickup and graffiti removal.
Do churches pay to join?+
No. Churches that join before December 31, 2026 are founding partners and their membership stays free permanently, even when churches that join later begin paying. The directory listing and program fees for a church are covered by Alliance Capital Reserve — they are never billed to the church, and the directory is not an extra fee.
What do businesses get for their membership?+
A package of working products and services (3–4 for vendors and home-based businesses, 15+ for merchants, small businesses, and community organizations), a directory listing, a Proud Community Sponsor sign, and — for vendors, merchants, and small-to-mid businesses — the no-loss guarantee.
What does a membership cost?+
Businesses and organizations pay a monthly pilot fee that depends on the member type. Every fee, including the one-time set-up fee (waived in the U.S. during the pilot) and the yearly option (ten months' fees for twelve months), is listed in the pilot fee table on the Businesses page, so nothing is a surprise. Your directory listing is included at no extra charge, and churches pay nothing.
How does the no-loss guarantee work?+
Over your first 12 months, we track the business the directory sends you. If it adds up to less than the dues you paid, we refund the difference, and your second year of membership is free. The guarantee covers vendors, merchants, and small-to-mid businesses. It is measured on spending reported through the program and is not a promise of any particular number of customers. CBOs, NGOs, and PBOs are not covered; they have their own stipend track. Read the full terms in section 9 of our Terms of Service. Terms of Service.
Where does the money go?+
Between 25% and 30% of what businesses pay each month goes into the program fund, which pays for visible work in the neighborhood, carried out by partner churches in their zones.
Where does the program's funding come from?+
From for-profit sources: Alliance Capital Reserve's capital and the fees members pay for their digital products and services packages, a portion of which supports the program. Those funds are given to Bridgewell Urban Group and to partner churches as donations, and Bridgewell receives and records them as donations. Partner churches report each month how their directory and outreach budgets were spent.
What is Nexus High Stack?+
The platform your membership package runs on — CRM, website builder, calendars, marketing automation, and more — supplied through Atlas Digital Grid. Members log into their own account; they never need to manage anything technical.
